A three term MA programme, structured around four taught modules , including a work placement, in addition to a final dissertation or curatorial project . Art Writing has been one of my favourite modules as we were introduced to a range of experts who specialised in all styles of writing. Overall the MA has been an excellent opportunity to network within the art world and expand upon my own personal interests.

Known as the Hull 2017 Angels Business Consortium (of which Force-7 Ltd was one), the consortiums total sponsorship of £374,000 helped Hull win the city changing bid in 2013. The programme is divided into units of study called modules which are assigned a number of ‘credits’. The credit rating of a module is proportional to the total workload, with 1 credit being nominally equivalent to 10 hours of work. To celebrate, and further extend, the strong relationship of staff within the University of Exeter and the University of Geneva, the two universities have launched a new seed fund to support developing research links.
The purpose of this module is to enable you to develop professional attributes and subject skills through experience in the work place, and to critically reflect upon your learning in that context. You will normally be expected to arrange your own placement, with support from academic staff and BCU Careers. This can be achieved in one block, or can be dispersed over a longer period of time, if required. Through working on a series of projects and briefs written in consultation with external agencies and institutions, you will build up a portfolio to showcase your individual abilities. You will develop key transferable skills in creative thinking, problem solving, collaboration, leadership and strategy, project management, budgeting, marketing, communication, presentation, independent research, critical and analytical thinking skills.

You will also be able to establish whether your product is viable – whether you can make it at a price that is attractive to customers, and which will be financially worthwhile for you.
